The Commercial Product Development Underwriter is responsible for shaping and enhancing our client's commercial SME products to meet market needs, regulatory requirements, and business objectives. This role involves working closely with underwriting, claims, and distribution teams to design, refine, and implement competitive commercial insurance offerings for the SME market.
The role requires a deep understanding of commercial underwriting principles (specifically in the SME arena), market trends, and product innovation strategies to drive sustainable growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development & Enhancement
- Support the development and refinement of our client's SME commercial insurance products, ensuring alignment with market demand and company strategy.
- Work within the underwriting team to develop and adjust pricing structures to maintain competitiveness and profitability.
- Assist in drafting and updating policy wordings, endorsements, and coverage terms to enhance product clarity and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure all products meet regulatory and legal requirements.
- Research emerging risks, industry trends, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for innovation.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with underwriting teams, data analysis and our client's capacity providers to ensure seamless integration of product developments into business operations.
- Provide training and guidance to distribution, broker support and claims teams on new and revised product features.
- Engage with brokers and key partners to promote new products and enhance market positioning.
- Support marketing teams in developing product documentation, sales materials, and training resources.
