We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and career driven trading underwriter to join one of our clients London based commercial underwriting teams. This is a great job for someone that is a multiclass underwriter (Property & Liability and/or Motor Trade) who can operate within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably and grow a book of commercial Mid–Market business.
This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to building and a portfolio of brokers and customers. You will play a vital role in expanding our clients market presence and driving the success of New or Existing business teams.
The person in this role can be based anywhere in the UK, as long as they are comfortable travelling regularly to the London offices.
The job requires you to work collaboratively internally and externally within one of our clients London underwriting team to support both the Senior Underwriter and Team Manager in delivering financial growth plans.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Previous Property, Liability or Motor Trade underwriting experience
- Strong ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a large complex organisation
- Confident trading abilities with a broad panel of brokers and good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation
- Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases
