Job Description:
Our clients have a fantastic opportunity for both a Junior and a more experienced Property Underwriter to join their highly respected Real Estate Specialty team, as they experience an exciting growth trajectory and invest in their workforce of the future.
The portfolio is varied with highly sought-after clients, amassing an impressive gross premium. They are one of the lead insurers for Real Estate clients, working with specialist brokers, that place their business through the vibrant London Market. The team is well respected in the industry, having built a strong reputation, of which they take great pride.
They are ideally seeking property underwriters who enjoy developing new business. The team mainly write mid-market real estate business, but their portfolio includes larger iconic risks (on a lead or follow basis) and they have just set up an international proposition. Underwriters must be comfortable making their own underwriting decisions and ideally be dealing with premiums from £25k upwards. Whilst they would love an individual with existing London market broker relationships in place, they will consider those working outside the London market providing they have the desire to build face to face relationships with their Brokers.

● Proven experience in decision making on a wide range of technical underwriting scenarios
within a Commercial environment, with specific London Real Estate / Property focus.
● Strong level of technical underwriting expertise in a composite insurance environment
(non-package).
● Self-motivated and comfortable managing your own workload; this is imperative as you
will need to operate at a strategic level, personally and actively influencing our approach
and future direction.
● A willingness to always go the extra mile, looking at ways to improve processes to progress forward and the ability to juggle priorities.
