Job Description -

We are looking for a Senior Development Underwriter to join our clients London Branch, where you'll take charge of managing and building relationships with brokers. You'll work as part of an experienced team to manage submissions, quotes, and bindings for new business while achieving target quote and conversion metrics.
We're seeking a decisive professional with exceptional attention to detail who excels at building strong internal and external relationships. You'll leverage your negotiation skills to drive results and independently evaluate moderately complex risks in challenging markets.

This is a new business focused role which would suit someone who already knows brokers working in the City.

What Will You Do?

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business primarily comprising moderate to complex accounts across all our clients products.
• Underwrite and skillfully negotiate moderate to complex risks to minimise risk and maximise profitability, including Mid Term Adjustments (MTAs).
• Proactively manage your portfolio, ensuring key performance indicators are consistently achieved and you actively target new business and retention.
• Identify and take corrective action based on individual risk characteristics identified through Portfolio Management to actively manage your portfolio of risks.
• Train and mentor less experienced underwriters.
• Prepare, lead and present Underwriting Reviews for individual policies or portfolios/schemes and manage action points.
