Job Description -

We are seeking an established Real Estate underwriter who has experience in writing overseas business.  Our clients are looking to grow their multi national / Pan European account and are close to having a dual stamping model in place with their sister company which will enable them to write this business more easily.

They are seeking a Lead underwriter to head up their development in this space.

They have in place a team of 4 assisting on the multi national account so support when it comes to assistance on flood checks and processing business is already in place, freeing up time for the Lead underwriter to be in the market and building up a pipeline of new business.  The manager is very aware of how soft the market is and is not expecting overnight growth. He would like to be in a position to have a fully operating multinational offering and pipeline of business for when the market starts to turn and in the fullness of time would like the multinational account to grow to £50M which will then mean progression for the Lead Underwriter into a more managerial position to include heading up this portfolio and the underwriting team that support it.

Key Responsibilities -

• Ensure trading teams underwrite new and existing business profitably, accurately, consistently and in line with established Multinational underwriting practices, using the full range of appetite and tools available.
• Proactively lead the development of strong trading relationships with global brokers, taking full ownership for the generation of profitable business.
• Develop a robust pipeline of appropriate new business opportunities and ensure that long-term pipeline is realised by ensuring broker / client engagement.
• Lead meetings, presentations and tender responses with brokers and end customers to portray our clients capabilities and secure new Multinational business opportunities.
• Coach, train and develop Underwriters to continually improve their technical and trading capability from a multinational perspective.
• Act as the referral point for Underwriters within your team, providing technical and trading input to improve the quality of decisions within their empowerment.
