Job Description -

Our clients are capacity providers for MGAs in the UK and Europe. They have an established strategy and a powerful customer value proposition. They have created and control an attractive insurance portfolio serving SMEs. The company has massive ambitions to grow and the team are regularly approached with new business propositions. Their Underwriting team put the capacity deals in place for MGA’s and oversee their development. The team are all very experienced and often come from Underwriting Management positions with the composite insurers. This role will suit individuals who are keen to manage their own portfolio and join an organisation that is nimble and can respond quickly to market conditions.

Their MGA’s target SME business from small end to SI of £10-30M.

Key Responsibilities -

The underwriters each take responsibility for their allocated panel of MGA’s and are involved in:

1) Taking underwriting referrals
2) Managing the MGA relationship and profitably growing the business
3) Quarterly performance meetings
4) Onboarding new MGA’s
5) Helping with the compiling of Underwriting Guides, policy wordings, and developing new products
6) Recommending changes if a product isn’t performing well / portfolio management

Our clients are looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience in underwriting roles with an emphasis on portfolio management & familiarity with industry tools and systems.
