Job Description:
A rare and exciting opportunity for a Renewable Energy Underwriter to join an established Construction Team & build up a new line of business in Renewable Energies.
With five years of capacity secured with a leading composite insurer you will be joining an established multinational employee-owned MGA. This is a rare opening to launch a new product within a team that can provide the technical and operational support. The company offer you the security of knowing the infrastructure is in place in respect to servicing and policy issue, plus the excitement of building you own portfolio and a team from scratch.
This role would suit an experienced underwriter who has established Broker relationships in the renewable energy market and wants to be part of growing their own book of business. Alongside the underwriting manager, you can work together in putting in place a robust underwriting/development strategy.
Underwriting teams are based in London/Manchester and Bristol but for the right individual there is the opportunity to work remotely, so we would also like to consider underwriters in Birmingham and Leeds.
Applicants should be competent underwriters within renewable energy. Focus will be on solar; wind; water then bio and batteries. Business will be UK based mid corporate. Written on a lead basis and introduced by specialist brokers who focus in this field.
Key responsibilities -
- Generate and underwrite project and operational renewable energy business in accordance with the business plan and profile of target insurance business set by Dual UK, and in accordance with the binding authority granted to the company.
- To develop an effective annual business activity planning process with our brokers and assist to develop a good knowledge of DUAL's Underwriting's overall business plans, processes and key contacts.
- Working with stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of business plans.
- To work with new and existing broker panel to forge relationships and trust and extend the panel to include new brokers.
- To act as a referral point for underwriters and assistant underwriters within the team
