Job Description -

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a challenging role in our client’s expert led
Construction team. As an integral member within the Regional team your focus will be on
profitable growth, retention and technical excellence in building a World class, multi-niche
Insurance & Engineering related service, with ambitious growth targets.
You will be responsible for underwriting Construction risks with associated Casualty/Liability
covers, ensuring customer business growth and retention. As a Senior Underwriter, you will
be a Senior Authority holder focused on winning and retaining business of a large and
complex nature. You will provide excellent service to customers, build and develop
successful broker relationships and be visible in the local market, thriving on face-to-face
contact with brokers and end customers.
Ideally our clients are looking for someone with experience in writing construction cover for civils i.e transport networks, energy systems, water, waste management, and social facilities like schools and hospitals.

Key Requirements -

• Seasoned professional with proven track record in construction underwriting with a
  heavy focus on Civils.
• Confidence and articulate – you need to be comfortable engaging with brokers and
  undertaking negotiations, proactively representing our client’s to the market.
• Analytical and Strategic – you need to be able to review submissions and understand
  our client’s appetite whilst considering market conditions.
• Team player but self-motivated and willing to train/mentor junior members of the
  team.
• Competent IT skills.
• To underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets.
• To positively represent our clients externally to the market.
• To support development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy.
• To support key business initiatives.
• To generate new producer relationships.
• To participate/contribute to key projects.
• To negotiate price and terms and conditions with producers.
