Our clients are looking for a high-performing Senior Underwriter with deep expertise in Property and Casualty to drive growth and deliver results for their Birmingham office. Our clients are looking for an experienced Property and Casualty underwriter with experience in dealing with premiums around the £100k mark. The risks written are for corporate UK businesses such as retail, offices, real estate, manufacturing, warehouse etc.
Our clients need a strong technical underwriter to oversee the larger renewals and who are comfortable in f2f broker meetings - Brokers include nationals and regionals based in the Midlands area.
As a senior underwriter you will also be involved in underwriting audits/training/ and mentoring more junior staff.
Key Requirements -
- Take ownership of major deals, using your expertise to win and retain strategic accounts that drive growth.
- Develop trusted partnerships with brokers, leveraging collaboration to unlock new opportunities and strengthen market presence.
- Represent the business confidently through face-to-face engagement, networking, and active participation in industry events.
- Support team development by guiding peers, reviewing referrals, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality service.
- Work closely with internal departments to streamline processes and deliver seamless, client-focused solutions.
- Act as a reliable point of contact for priority clients, anticipating needs and delivering tailored, responsive support.
Essential skills -
- Proven expertise in underwriting complex Property and Casualty risks
- Track record of dealing with large and/or complex risks and cases
- Proven ability to manage broker relationships that fuel growth and long-term retention
