Job Description:

This is a great opportunity to join a company with established Private Equity backers who have a sensible long term approach to developing as a respected Insurer with excellent technical underwriting standards in place. Our clients are searching for an Underwriter with around 8 years technical expertise in ideally writing both PI & D&O.
This position offers the opportunity to be an active part of managing relationships with MGA's; assisting with the development of products; taking underwriting referrals; overseeing the portfolio management of the account; & ensuring underwriting excellence is maintained with effective compliance and audits.

The role offers the opportunity to join a nimble company with long term goals to expand. Currently the company provide over a billion pounds of capacity to MGA's in the UK & Europe. Europe is a key growth area so if candidates have language skills and would like to travel, our clients offer this opportunity.

Classes currently over capacity includes: Car Insurance; Home Insurance; Motor Fleet; Commercial Property & Casualty; Professional Indemnity; Directors & Officers Insurance; Surety; Liability; After the Event Insurance; & Cyber Insurance.

The financial lines MGA's are running well and they have a number of new enquiries coming in that need assessing and if meeting criteria setting up.

The team works hybrid with 3 days a week either in the London office or on client visits. This role will suit someone who enjoys establishing and maintaining relationships with clients; enjoys a variety of tasks; a team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment; able to work in a nimble work environment.

Key responsibilities -

• Assist with conducting due diligence on new programs in the UK and EU, to select well performing MGAs to partner.
• Account management of Programs where allocated, including monitoring performance and challenging results at quarterly review meetings and audits.
• Conducting monthly oversight and case reviews of the live Programs.
• Providing assistance with the coverage offered to underlying policyholders by working with our clients Wordings Specialist in the assessment of Coverholder/MGAs policy wordings.
• Assessing with the rating approach of MGA partners during due diligence and ongoing when live.
• Assist product underwriters with the assessment of new products and schemes as introduced by live Coverholders for approval or otherwise.
• Assisting with building and implementing best practice for the management and control of Programs.
