Job Description -

We are seeking two underwriters, people who can make decisions and want to be part of a team that has ambitions. Our clients are looking for people who genuinely enjoy their job, want to be part of a friendly down to earth team, but are also keen to succeed and grow the business.

We are seeking underwriters who will build broker relationships, and are passionate about getting the right business written and retained. We need underwriters who can be trusted to do a first class job without being micro-managed. The team work remotely, coming into the London office around 2 days a week, normally coinciding as to when they have broker meetings. They are always in contact with each other on a daily basis - with lots of Teams meetings. We are looking for underwriters who can hit the ground running and are self sufficient but also not afraid to ask if they are unsure about something. Our clients premiums range from £500 to £1.8M but in the current climate are winning business on premiums around £10-50k.

description of Two roles -

• For one role we need an underwriter who can open some doors for them with London Market Brokers to include the nationals. Someone who can tap into their existing relationships and look at UK mid market property owners business and start to build up a book of new business. For this role we will be needing a London based underwriter with at least three years at a composite who is a self starter and comfortable developing new business in the London market.
• For the second role we need an underwriter to be focused on new business. Someone who can work in a fast paced and organised fashion, to help with the huge amount of new enquiries coming through. So a person who can respond quickly to enquiries and help maintain existing relationships. This may suit an underwriter at either an MGA or composite, if they are more regionally based that is fine.
